Eating at The Sidings

All food is traditional home cooked food, all cooked on site. There is no bought in prepared meals. Our chef is so passionate about home cooked food that he even makes his own tartare sauce, piccalilli, chutneys and custard.

We do not aim to be all things to all men, but if you want traditional pub food with the occasional twist, cooked from the finest ingredients to the highest standard then The Sidings is for you.

Home made pies, traditional fish and chips with "proper" home made chips (not a frozen one in sight) and a specials board with a selection of seasonal local produce that is still traditional, but a little more adventurous for those that wish. (See our menu download for a guide to the current availability - please note this is a guide and as we change our menu regularly to account for local and seasonal availability we cannot guarantee all dishes shown will be available all of the time.)

Special Dietary Requirements

As we prepare all dishes here at the Sidings we know all the ingredients for every dish. This enables us to cater for special dietary needs such as Coeliacs, nut allergies as well as vegetarian and vegans. If you are planning to visit then please call us before to check what dishes we can make for you when you visit.

We also have our delicious Sunday menu and a Senior Citizen menu available Monday to Friday.

When was the last time you had chips that you told your friends about, well we believe that we make the best chips in Yorkshire, come and see if you agree.

Wherever possible we will source ingredients locally, whether that be using local farms or butchers, fruit and vegetable suppliers, and our personal favourite, local breweries!

We currently use E Slinn, and Dave’s of Brinsworth, Thorntons Bakers of Rotherham, Jack Waters, and William Howe of Sheffield.

Yorkshire and the North Midlands produce excellent meat, vegetables and other products, not only do we buy local for the quality, but also to support local businesses, we believe we should not buy anywhere else unless we have to.
